Continuing Education |
At the heart of this organization is the desire to offer well-informed, grounded, avocational education in topics such as yoga, bodywork, energy medicine, trauma recovery skills, plant medicine, and other topics for personal development.
Community OutreachWe offer opportunities for educating our communities in order to help create a better informed population on topics such as trauma recovery, personal healing, and supporting mental health through a holistic, somatics-focused lens.
|
Some courses may be eligible for use towards professional continuing education units for organizations such as Yoga Alliance, the State of Wisconsin's Comprehensive Community Services Program, and others.
Experiential LearningSomatic education inherently has an experiential aspect to it in order to grasp, fully understand, and integrate it. This work uses many concepts around proprioception, interoception, and kinesthetic awareness.
|
Thomas Hanna used the word "somatics" to describe how we sense and experience ourselves, calling it "the study of the self from the perspective of one’s lived experience, encompassing the dimensions of body, psyche, and spirit."
Embodiment work supports us in bringing unseen parts of ourselves into conscious awareness so that we may integrate, heal, and grow through direct experience of the language and wisdom of the body.
